2008 Heritage Festival Update
Both the Lassiter Chamber Orchestra and String Ensemble competed in the Heritage Music Festival held at University of South Florida in Tampa. The Lassiter Chamber Orchestra was awarded the Instrumental Sweepstakes Award for the highest score of all band and orchestras at the event. Both the Chamber Orchestra and String Ensemble received the Gold Award for their high scores. In addition, the orchestra program was presented with the Adjuicators Award for the highest combined score of all participating schools. Soloists Sarah Ohms and Robert Marshall both received the Maestro trophy for their outstanding performances. Congratulations to these students!

NYC's National Orchestra Cup Competition Update
Congratulations Lassiter Orchestra!!
The Lassiter String Ensemble and Lassiter Symphony competed March 9th in the National Orchestra Cup at Lincoln Center.  The Lassiter String Ensemble received 5th Runner up, and their piece, Japanese Lullaby, was chosen as the Festival’s Most Original Work.  The Lassiter Symphony received the highest scores overall of all competing groups and was selected as the National Orchestra Cup's Grand Champions as well receiving “Best String Section”.  In addition, Sarah Ohms was presented with the award of Outstanding Upper String Soloist of the competition.  We are proud of our orchestra students!
